The Auburn Garden Club recently presented a $2,000 donation to the City of Auburn Arts, Parks and Recreation – a contribution that supports the new Les Gove Park project on Auburn Way South.

Daryl Faber, director of Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation Department, was on hand Sept. 21 at the park to accept the donation from the club.

Club leaders said they are excited to participate in the project, which will expand green spaces, walking trails and native plantings. The improvements will help habitat conservation and preserve important amphibian and pollinator populations, the club said, and provide more open spaces for Auburn residents.

The garden club’s mission is “… to aid in the protection of native trees, plants and birds and to encourage civic beautification.”
