Auburn Police officer Andrew Lindgren, responding to a domestic violence call Wednesday morning at a homeless camp along the Green River, found a 14-month-old girl in the ruins surrounded in filth and drug paraphernalia.

Auburn Police officer Andrew Lindgren, responding to a domestic violence call Wednesday morning at a homeless camp along the Green River, found a 14-month-old girl in the ruins surrounded in filth and drug paraphernalia.

Lindgren rescued the baby girl and brought her to a local hospital for a quick checkup to make sure she was all right.

The child, who reportedly is doing OK, is now in state custody.

“Our men and women may act tough but deep down, not only are they peacekeepers but they too are moms/dads/sisters/brothers/sons/daughters at the end of the day,” Auburn Police said in a Facebook post.
