The Auburn Police Department raised $5,312 for Special Olympics Washington (SOWA) from last Saturday’s “Tip-A-Cop” event at Red Robin, near the SuperMall.

The department’s next SOWA-support event is July 17-19 with the Roof-Top Cop fundraiser at Krispy Kreme Donuts, 1900 1st Ave S., Seattle, near Safeco Field. Free donuts and items will be offered for various levels of donations. For a small donation customers can toss water balloons at the officers on the roof.

Auburn police will participate in the May 29 Law Enforcement Torch Run. Approximately 15 officers will help escort the Torch of Dreams through Auburn on its way to McChord Air Force base for the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Summer Games.
