BASEBALL

PLAYERS NEEDED

A South King County team is seeking some competitive players to complete its 2009 roster. The team will play seven or eight tournaments throughout next spring and summer. More information on tryouts: Ron Wick at (253) 874-6221.

EVERGREEN STATE SPORTS

The organization is accepting NEW PLAYER REQUESTS for interviews for admission into its developmental programs. Teams currently seeking to fill rosters are 9-U, 11-U, 12-U, 13-U, 15/16-U, and 18-U. The 2008-09 TRAINING YEAR CYCLE is now under way. Team and individual sessions are available. The club is forming new 8- and 10-year-old teams to join its 12, 14, 16 and 18 age squads. Teams have limited spots available. Individual players may train with existing teams. Private, small group and team instructin is available working with coach Brian Embery. TEAM FACILITY RENTAL REQUESTS are being accepted. Options include rental only, or team training provided by Coach Embery. Limited time slots are available. TEAMS WANTED

The Auburn Select Winter Basketball League is open for boys teams in grades 4-8. The team entry fee for a 13-game schedule is $600. Registration is under way now. AUBURN PARKS ADULT WINTER LEAGUE

This 5-on-5 league is for players 18 and older, complete with officials, playoffs and awards. Teams play a 10-game schedule in a division with teams of similar skill level. Games are at local high schools and middle schools on Mondays through Thursdays, depending on level. The cost is $650 per team, and the early registration deadline is Nov. 26. DREAM GIRLS AND KNIGHTS

The team is open to those ages 6-18. Remaining registration sessions for the 2008-09 parade season are Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1:30 p.m. both days. Registration takes place at the Elks Cascade Lodge, 9116 MLK Way South in Seatle. Fees are $75, or $125 for two children from the same household, or $175 for three children from the same household. Fees must be paid IN FULL at the time of registration by cash, cashier’s check, or money order. BEGINNERS PROGRAM

The Sno-King Junior Thunderbirds will offer a year-round, beginners-level program for boys and girls ages 5-10. No skating experience is necessary. LEARN TO SKATE CLASSES

An eight-week series with group and private lessons for boys, girls and adults is being offered at KENT VALLEY ICE CENTRE. Instruction is based on criteria set forth by the Ice Skating Institute. SCFC WINTER ACADEMY

The Kent-based South County Futbol Club is offering this academy for boys ages 8-11 who have a desire to learn more and further develop their skills. These training sessions under the guidance of licensed trainers and coaches are for highly motivated Mod, Rec and Select players. Session dates are Dec. 12, Jan. 9 and Jan. 23 from 6-8 p.m. at French Field on the Kent-Meridian High School campus. AUBURN POOL

The pool offers several programs. PUBLIC SWIMS are available Monday through Friday from 1-3 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. at $2.75 for adults and $2.25 for youths. LAP SWIMS are scheduled for Monday through Friday from 6-8 a.m., noon-1 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. at $3.75 for adults and $2.75 for youths. LESSONS are available on a Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday basis from 5:30-7 p.m., and on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-noon. Prices depend on age. These camps are created especially for players who are not on a club team. Three levels are offered: Fundamental, Intermediate, and Varsity. All camps are open to girls in grades 6-12.
