Mountainview’s Steven Johnson strikes out 10 in Lions’ 3-1 win over Sumner | Baseball

Senior Steven Johnson was sterling on the mound for the Lions on Wednesday, hurling a three-hit complete game 3-1 victory over South Puget Sound League 3A rival Sumner at Auburn Mountainview High School.

Johnson gave up just one run and struck out 10 Spartans to earn the win.

Joey Morgan added a triple and two RBIs for the lions and Michael Patenaude had a double and an RBI

The win moves Auburn Mountainview into fourth place in the SPSL 3A with a 8-5 league record, 9-6 overall.

Sumner falls to fifth place with an 8-5 league, 11-5 overall record.

Enumclaw (8-2, 9-4), White River (9-4, 12-5) and Franklin Pierce (8-4, 10-6) round out the top-three spots in the SPSL 3A.

Auburn Mountainview will travel to Enumclaw for a 7 p.m. game on Friday.
