Western Washington University student Melissa Jensen, daughter of David and Terry Jensen of Auburn, received a $1,000 Fairhaven Alumni Leadership Scholarship for the 2008-09 academic year.

The Fairhaven Alumni Leadership Scholarship is funded by the WWU Alumni Board and is awarded to students majoring in a Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies program.

Jensen, a junior, is enrolled in a Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies concentration. She serves as an Associated Students Women’s Center intern and LGBTA volunteer. She hopes to attend graduate school after graduating from Western.
