Olga Bouvier

April 22, 1908 – December 30, 2010

Olga grew-up in New Orleans, Louisiana with her mother, grandmother and three uncles. For most of her young life she went to parochial school. She met Lucien V. F. Bouvier one Sunday on a Mississippi River boat. Dancing and dining were popular on Sunday afternoons. Lucien came from France when he was 19. He had been schooled in working in a bakery. He did everything from bread making to pastry and wedding cakes.They married and moved to Chicago, then came west to Spokane for a short time. From Spokane they moved to Selleck where Lucien took on the job of cook on a boat going up to Alaska. This was during the outbreak of WWII. I was in the 5th grade and my sister 1st grade. We then moved to Kent, WA and stayed there through the rest of our schooling. Mother worked at Boeing and Father at Todd Shipyards during the early 1940’s. Mother also worked at “Old King Cole” Cafe on East Valley Hwy, and my father at one time worked at the Olympic Hotel as a pastry chef. Lucien passed away in 1977. Olga is survived by two daughters, Jeanette L. Bouvier Gray of Seattle and Suzette O. Bouvier Coleman of Enumclaw. There are 4 grandchildren: Marc F. Gray of Federal Way recently deceased, Cheri Lee Morgan of Renton, Shelley J. Boyce of Shelton, and Lorene J. Brunett of Seattle. There are 7 great-grandsons, 1 great-granddaughter and one great-great. Olga lived at the River Mobile Home Park around 27 years. Her 100th birthday party was held there. She moved from the River just after her 99th birthday to “Garden Terrace” of Federal Way. Many thanks to Hospice and all the wonderful people at Garden Terrace for their loving kindness to our mother. God Bless all of you. No Funeral. The family will have a private celebration of her life at a later date.
