Hazel L. Schermerhorn

Hazel L. Schermerhorn, 94, died on August 15, 2012 in Auburn WA. She was born in Eureka, MT on September 2, 1917 to Sarah and Joseph Fuller, 7th of 9 children. She was raised in Flagstone, B.C. and moved back to Eureka before she turned 21. She married Ivan T. Schermerhorn in 1940 and moved to Auburn in 1952 where they raised 5 children. She was a homemaker for many years, but went to work and retired from Boeings at age 62. In her retirement she traveled throughout the states and enjoyed her many grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Bonnie (Tim) Flannery, Denise (Dan) Johnson, and her sons Thomas and Richard; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and her companion of 36 years, Herbert Southwick. She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan and daughter Iva. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn, WA. Burial will be in Eureka, MT. on September 2, 2012.
