Lt. Col. Robert C. Klontz Sr. (USAF Ret.)
Lt. Col. Robert C. Klontz Sr. (USAF Ret.), Age 90, independent until a few days ago. His mind was strong, but his body finally weakened. He lived a wonderful life. Born in Viking, Alberta in 1921 he came to Auburn, WA as a child. Graduated from Auburn High School and attended WSU and St. Martins. A talented pilot who trained many of our WWII fliers. Flew active duty in Vietnam, C-124’s and C-141’s. Bob owned a successful boat, motorcycle dealership, and sporting goods store. A collector, inventor, sport fisherman, hunter, gunsmith, farmer, salesman, marksman, archer, butcher and commercial fisherman. Retired since his early 60’s, he was a fabulous husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin, son and giving friend. Survived by his wife Lou, of almost 70 years. Also survived by; son, Robert (Susan) Klontz Jr.; daughters, Roberta (Kerry) Hughes and Patricia (Jay) Dworsky; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be Friday, Apr. 1, 2011 at 10:15am at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. Memorial Service Friday, Apr. 1, 2011 at 2:00pm at Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn, WA.
