Melissa Margaret Franzen

Born August 19, 1951 in Spokane, Washington and passed away October 24, 2009 in Seattle. She loved gardening, playing sudoku, sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking as well as decorating. Melissa was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Auburn. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Melissa is survived by her husband of forty years; James Franzen, son; Eric Franzen, daughter; Elizabeth (Craig) Detrick; grandchildren; Jonathan Detrick, Cameron Detrick, and Courtney Detrick, as well as her brother; Monte Stein, sister: Mary Ann Stein. She was preceded in death by her parents: Melvin and Margaret Stein and her sister; Monica Juneau. Melissa touched many peoples lives and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial contributions may be made to Virginia Mason Medical Center or the ASPCA.A visitation will be held Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn, WA. A Funeral Mass will be held, 11:00 AM, Monday November 2nd at Holy Family Catholic Church in Auburn with a committal service to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
