Sue Purple passed away, with family by her side, on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at St. Claire Hospital in Lakewood. She was eighty years old.
Sue was born in Minot, North Dakota. She graduated from Kent Meridian High School and attended Washington State University. Sue worked as a school secretary for many years in both Auburn and Kent School Districts.
She married Frank Purple in 1956 and settled in Auburn where they raised their five children. They resided in Auburn for 36 years and moved to Anderson Island, WA in 1992. Sue enjoyed the peaceful island life and especially loved seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy the beach in front of their home.
Sue was preceded in death by her oldest son, Steven Purple, and her parents Violet and Murdoch McLane. She was very much loved and will be missed by her husband of 60 years, Frank Purple, her children Jim Purple, Ron Purple, Sheri Boyer and Rob Purple, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
