Starting Tuesday, Jan. 3 and lasting until Friday, Jan. 27 the west platform at Auburn Station will be closed due to BNSF construction of a third track.

The project will reduce future delays for Sound Transit passengers by creating more capacity for the freight and passenger trains that use the corridor, improving on-time performance. However, riders should expect potential delays during the construction period as all trains use one mainline track.

In Auburn, passengers will use the east platform for both northbound and southbound trips, with those parking in the west lot using the overhead walkway to cross.

During this work many Sounder trips will experience delays. The below trains are particularly subject to waits for access to the single track and could experience delays of up to 20 minutes:

• 1501 (6:15 a.m. Seattle departure)

• 1503 (6:50 a.m. Seattle departure)

• 1506 (6:06 a.m. Lakewood departure)

• 1510 (6:46 a.m. Lakewood departure)

• 1515 (4:32 p.m. Seattle departure)
