The Auburn School District Board of Directors recognized Angie Fettig, a first-grade teacher at Lake View Elementary, for her outstanding service at the Monday board meeting.
Fettig has worked in Auburn for 18 years. She is active with the Lake View PTA, is co-advisor for the yearbook, participates in the Auburn Teacher Leadership Academy and is on the school improvement team.
“I love being around the kids. When you raise the bar, it’s amazing what they can learn,” Fettig said.

The Auburn School District Board of Directors also recognized Annie Bui-Hoang, a fifth-grader at Arthur Jacobsen Elementary, for being an outstanding student. Bui-Hoang enjoys math and science. She takes piano lessons, swimming, and ballet, and is learning Vietnamese. She plans to become a scientist or a doctor. “Annie is an all-around outstanding student,” teacher Kathleen Mooney said. “She likes to help others in the classroom and is friendly to everyone. She always goes the extra mile.” … Auburn’s Eric C. Moehrle recently received his master’s degree in criminal justice from Boston University. … Kamron Hamedi of Auburn has been named to Bob Jones University’s String Orchestra, one of two orchestras at the Greenville, S.C., school. All students at the university may audition to participate in the orchestra, which is comprised of students and staff from a variety of departments and divisions at BJU. Hamedi, a sophomore premed/predent major, also was among approximately 490 students named to the fall 2016 president’s list, which recognizes those who who earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester. … Isaac Drewes, from Auburn, participated in the internationally renowned St. Olaf Christmas Festival on Dec. 1-4 in Northfield, Minn. The festival, one of the oldest musical Christmas celebrations in the country, featured more than 500 student musicians who are members of five choirs and the St. Olaf Orchestra.
