An Auburn man suffered a severe head injury Monday afternoon after falling off the roof or ladder at a commercial business in the 3400 block of C Street Northeast in Auburn.

The Valley Regional Fire Authority was dispatched at 2:19 p.m. to a 66-year-old man who either fell off the roof or ladder. The man was reported to be a worker hired to repair the roof. Bystanders found the man on the pavement unconscious with an obvious head injury. Bystanders dialed 911 and started CPR.

VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One arrived and were able to stabilize the patient. The man was subsequently airlifted by Airlift Northwest to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
