Auburn Mountainview and Auburn Riverside met early eliminations at the state Class 4A fastpitch tournament in Spokane on Friday.
The Lions (23-5) were out in three games, the Ravens (15-9) in two.
After dropping a 3-0 decision to Jackson of Mill Creek in its opener, Auburn Mountainview defeated Eastmont of East Wenatchee 14-4 to stay alive in consolation play before bowing to Camas 9-1.
Against Camas, Lily Hope homered. Megan Perius, Adrianna Lomeli-Smith, Zoe Collins and Laurel Tauzer each collected a hit for the Lions.
Against Eastmont, Lomeli-Smith drove in five runs on three hits, including a homer, to lead Auburn Mountainview. Emily Bartholomew also homered.
The Lions amassed 17 hits, with Tauzer, Lomeli-Smith, and Collins each collecting multiple hits for Auburn Mountainview.
Caitlyn Rhoades earned the win, working four innings, giving up four runs, six hits and walking none. Jackson’s Iyanla Pennington tossed a complete-game gem, allowing just two hits and striking out 14.
In the loss to Jackson, Tauzer and Emily Martinez each had a hit. Collins took the loss, giving up six hits and three wins in 5 1/3 innings of work.
The Ravens lost their opener to Woodinville, the eventual champion, 10-0, and Richland, 11-0.
