The City of Auburn and Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce are partnering to support a Downtown Salute to the Red, White and Blue Downtown Business Decorating Contest.
The contest, taking place until July 8, encourages Auburn’s downtown businesses to dress their windows in festive, patriotic colors in celebration of independence day.
“This is a great opportunity for our community to celebrate the great businesses that make our downtown so special,” said Mayor Nancy Backus.
Each business that participates will be entered in a contest where community members vote for their favorite display. The winner will receive prizes totaling more than $2,000 in value provided by chamber partners.
“We are delighted to partner with the City of Auburn on this project,” said Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Julia Jordan. “We encourage the community to come downtown and vote for your favorite window display.”
Each window display has the unique, creative voice of the business it’s representing, showing the diversity and creativity of Auburn businesses. The window decorations provide a fun and family-friendly way for citizens of Auburn to engage with and explore their downtown.
Community members will be able to vote for the winner by scanning the QR code or visiting the URL on posters hanging in participating businesses windows. Voting for the contest begins July 1 and ends July 8.
