A fire destroyed four semi-trucks at an outside storage complex in Pacific early Tuesday morning, the Valley Regional Fire Authority reported.
There were no injuries.
Crews from the VRFA and East Pierce Fire & Rescue responded at 2:43 a.m. to the 1200 block of Valentine Avenue to a reported commercial building fire, which in actuality was four fully involved semi-trucks. Witnesses reported initially that a building appeared fully involved from a distance south of the location.
EPF&R E113 crew arrived to find four fully involved semi-trucks at an outside storage complex with nearby adjacent buildings. The EPF&R and VRFA crews aggressively extinguished the multiple fires, while containing the fires to the original four semi-trucks with no extension to other nearby vehicles or structures.
Crews had fire control and extinguishment of the fires at 3:26 a.m.
The fire is under investigation. The total loss is estimated at $1-2 million. The EPA has been notified due to fuel and other contaminants from the fire.
