In addition to the “below the belt” name calling by Mr. William Riedel in his Aug. 11 letter to the editor, let’s get the record straight for residents who may be misinformed.

The City Council on May 9 passed Resolution No. 5284, with a 7-0 vote, a policy affirming the value of all Auburn residents “that the City of Auburn is committed to inclusiveness and diversity as fundamental aspects of our community, and under state law, the functions, powers and duties of City officials and employees do not include the responsibility for enforcement of federal immigration law, etc.”

Before Mr. Riedel accuses someone of untruths, he should do his homework. The City of Auburn is not a sanctuary city. My vote for mayor goes to Largo Wales.
