Auburn Riverside’s Marcus Sutrick and Dustin Williams finished fifth and seventh, respectively, at the North Puget Sound League sub-district cross country meet at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood last Saturday.
Sutrick completed the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes, 13.9 seconds. Williams followed in 16:22.5.
Tahoma, behind Dawson Besst’s winning run of 15:42.9, took the team title. The Ravens were second.
Austin Cays finished 11th (16:48.3) and Nick Wolfe was 17th (16:54.2) for Auburn Mountainview, which finished fourth in the team standings.
Top Auburn runner was JJ Azur (57th, 17:41.8).
In the girls race, Auburn Mountainview’s Samantha Goedde was fifth with a season-best 19:52.5. Teammate Josie Austin was 24th (20:49.5). The Lions finished 11th as a team.
Auburn Riverside was seventh in the team chase behind the performances of Destany Abellera (27th, 21:08.4) and Leah Kerbs (32nd, 21:23.10).
Katherine Johnson led all Auburn runners (71st, 22:41.5).
Runners compete at the West Central District 3/Southwest District 4 Westside Classic at Chambers Creek at University Place on Saturday.
