The Healthy Auburn Resource Expo – featuring free health screenings and resource information – embraced the Auburn Community & Event Center last Saturday.

The event, presented by the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce, offered 30 health-related vendors, attractions and activities for all ages.

Attractions included: the Watt’s Basketball Foundation preview basketball camp; performances from Pacific Ballroom Dance Studio; Longevita Pilates & Yoga Studio-supported non-contact boxing to fight Parkinson’s disease; Mixxed fit dancing; and workouts with a fun obstacle course from the Gym Guyz.

The U.S. Army hosted a boot camp-style course. White River Family Dentistry brought its “dueling fairies,” the tooth fairy and the cavity fairy, to teach children the importance of dental health.

A variety of services and information were available courtesy of vendors – acupuncturists, chiropractic services, massage therapists, alternative medicine, dental care, insurance services and information from the King County Health Department, Sea Mar and others.

Attendees enjoyed healthy snacks and healthy living recipes courtesy of United Natural Foods.

MultiCare Health System, Wesley Homes Lea Hill, Rotary Club of Auburn and Puget Sound Clean Air sponsored the expo.
