Auburn-based Orion has been awarded Boeing’s Performance Excellence Award (BPEA) for the eighth year in a row.
Boeing issues its BPEA annually to recognize suppliers that have achieved superior performance. This year, Orion is one of only 414 suppliers worldwide to achieve the award. Orion is also the recipient of the 2011, 2015, and 2016 Boeing Global Supplier of the Year award.
Orion is an award-winning social enterprise with a mission of helping those with obstacles to employment, such as learning disabilities, low-income and mental health challenges. Orion uses operations in its aerospace manufacturing division and its Contact Center Services division as platforms to teach people job skills through a combination of classroom instruction and paid training, including mentoring and internship programs.
Orion is a leader in the manufacturing, painting and finishing of precision metal fabrication parts and in the production of wire harness/cable assemblies for the aerospace and defense industries.
Orion uses operations in its aerospace manufacturing division, a certified AS9100 tier one supplier delivering millions of parts in 2017 to Top Tier OEMs, as a platform to teach people job skills through a combination of classroom instruction and on-the-job training, including mentoring and internship programs.
The company’s manufacturing capabilities have grown to include sheet metal fabrication, complex machined parts, hydraulic assembly, metal finishing and cable/wire harness assembly, serving a broad customer base in commercial aerospace, general aviation and defense.
Orion partners with federal, state, county and local agencies, providing training opportunities and job placement services to individuals in the community.
In addition, Orion has expanded its manufacturing training program to Mukilteo.
