Auburn Police responded to the following calls, among many others, between April 27 and May 7:
April 27
Theft from vehicle: Overnight, 300 block of F Street Southeast. Somebody broke into a vehicle in front of a home and stole a backpack, a car buffer, a ratchet kit and a tire pump.
Shoplifting: 11:56 a.m., 4040 Auburn Way N. While police were searching a guy they’d just arrested for a shoplifting incident that went down April 11, they discovered he had just thieved something else.
Assault on officer: 6:45 p.m., 2700 block of Alpine Drive Southeast. Police arrested a woman for attempted assault on a police officer, unlawful emergency response and resisting arrest during a welfare check. The woman was also the star of her own warrant.
May 1
Weapons offense: 9:41 a.m., 210 37th St. SE. Somebody fired two bullets at a mobile home overnight.
Weapons offense: 2:30 p.m., 800 block of 12th Street Northeast. Sometime within the previous week, somebody fired a bullet through the window of a residence.
May 4
Trespassing: 10:57 a.m., 400 block of Lund Road. Police busted a girl for trespassing, and for having heroin and drug paraphernalia on her person.
May 6
Burglars with a sweet tooth: 7:05 p.m., 1825 K St. SE. Burglars unknown entered a classroom at Olympic Middle School and scuttled off with candy of undisclosed deliciousness.
May 7
Recovered stolen vehicle: 6:22 a.m., 110 block of F Street Southwest. At a home in Auburn, police found a vehicle that had been stolen in Lacey, and items the thief or thieves took from said vehicle they found in a shed on the property.
Vandalism: 7 a.m., 2301 M St. SE. Someone broke a window in a portable classroom but did not enter the structure.
Theft of tow truck: 1:16 p.m., 3502 C St. NE. When two people stole a flatbed tow truck from a business, police officers chased the truck for a short distance on State Route 167 before ending the pursuit.
Somebody saw the tow truck leaving the freeway in Kent and going into an apartment complex, at which point the occupants tried to run away. A K9 track helped officers catch the two thieves.
