AuburnFest celebration: register, join the parade

Fun run, vendors, car show also open to participants at summertime showcase

Registration is open for the Auburn Days Parade set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, on Main Street in downtown.

The parade has been an Auburn tradition for decades and is the kickoff to AuburnFest. The parade will feature a variety of marching bands, drill teams, dancers and one-of-a-kind cars. The parade honors and celebrates the beauty, hospitality, friendliness, quality of life and diversity of the greater Auburn community.

The parade route travels west along Main Street from E Street Northeast to A Street Northwest.

THE LINEUP

The Auburn Days Parade is part of the overall AuburnFest celebration. Additional event components include:

• Friday, Aug. 10 | Almost 5K Poker Fun Run | 7 p.m. | Les Gove Park

A fun run staged in conjunction with the Summer Sounds & Cinema concert and outdoor movie at Les Gove Park. Register online or download the entry form.

• Saturday, Aug. 11 | AuburnFest | 11 a.m.-7 p.m. | Les Gove Park

AuburnFest will include two entertainment stages, a beer garden, food vendors, craft and specialty vendors, community and nonprofit vendors, a literary showcase, a super slide, inflatables, a rock-wall, a train, pony rides, mini golf and more. Les Gove Park also includes a fantastic playground, a spraypark, and the Auburn Community & Event Center and The REC Teen Center. General vendor application and sponsor opportunities.

• Saturday, Aug. 11 | Car Show | 11 a.m.-4 p.m. | Les Gove Park

A fun display for antique, classic, hot rod, street rod, muscle, and unique cars. Awards in 15 categories. Free dash plaques for the first 100 to register.
