Between Oct. 1 and 7, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 241 calls for service, among them the following:

Oct. 1

Aid call: 11:53 a.m.,(Lea Hill). Firefighters helped a boy who had fallen from monkey bars at recess and was complaining of chest pain, and left him with the school nurse until his parents could arrive.

Oct. 2

Aid call: (8:45 p.m., Algona). Firefighters responding to a middle-aged man in the throes of a seizure found him stable, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Oct. 3

Accident: 8:55 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a woman who’d been injured in a two-car accident, and a private ambulance hurried her to MAMC.

Oct. 4

Aid call: 3:30 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped a man who was complaining of facial numbness, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.

Oct. 5

Accident: 12:33 p.m., (Auburn). After firefighters examined a baby girl who’d sustained minor abrasions to her chest and chin from the straps of her car seat during a two-car accident on southbound SR167, they determined she did not need further evaluation or treatment.

Oct. 6

Car vs. bicycle: 5:30 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a man who had been hit by a car while he was riding his bicycle, King County Medics examined him and a private ambulance transported him to Valley Medical Center.

Oct. 7

Tree down: 2:14 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a tree West Valley Highway near West Main Street found debris in the road and a tree lying partially in the southbound lane. Firefighters cleared the debris, used a chainsaw to remove the tree from the roadway and called the City of Auburn’s street division to finish clearing the debris.
