Phyllis Jane Irby, 94, died November 29, 2018 at her home in Auburn. She was born in Seattle on January 22, 1924 to Harry and Julia (Hutchins) Shogren.

After graduating from Lincoln High, she met Thomas Irby of Henry, TN at a USO dance. They married in 1943 and settled in Auburn 70 years ago when Tom began working for the Railroad.

Phyllis was an avid gardener, who shared her skill, flowers, time and Christian Faith with family, friends and neighbors. She attended church and Bible study for many years and was known as a prayer warrior. She had an unassuming personality and saw the good in people.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Lynne Pizzo of Amesbury, MA, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and daughters Barbara Hensley and Maureen Courtney.

Memorial Service will be held on December 8th at 1pm at Wabash Church, 18325 SE 384th St, Auburn 98092.
