Auburn’s Overcomer Covenant Church on Saturday hosts “Smiles at Christmas,” a free holiday toy giveaway for nearly 300 families in need or on the verge of homelessness.

Approximately 2,000 toys will be given to nearly 1,000 children over the course of the day, according to event organizers.

Toys were purchased by Overcomer Covenant Church, partner organization Mission Africa, along with donations from World Vision, and discounts from Walmart and Disney.

Parents will have the opportunity to pick out a toy for their children discreetly while they participate in fun activities. There will be bouncy houses, movies on a big screen, various games, photos with Santa and snacks.

In addition, the church will give away a limited number of winter coats and host a hot holiday meal for all participants.

The church is on Auburn’s West Hill at 33415 Military Road S.
