Abbigail Newman’s run-scoring, walkoff single in the bottom of the eighth inning boosted Auburn past Enumclaw 3-2 in a North Puget Sound League Olympic softball game Thursday night.

The Trojans moved to 3-0 in league, 6-0 overall. The Hornets dropped to 1-2, 3-3.

Newman’s hit on a 3-2 count scored Charity Sevaaetasi, who singled earlier in the inning.

Auburn ace Kiana Adams scattered five hits, struck out nine and walked none over eight innings.

Sevaaetasi and Gracie Jo Olson each had two hits. Olson and Callie Arnott each had an RBI.

Elsewhere

At Auburn Riverside 10, Todd Beamer 0: Autumn Lee threw five strong innings and the Ravens (2-1, 5-1) cruised past the Titans (1-2, 3-4) in NPSL Olympic play Thursday.

Melina Ness, Sadie Jensen and Christine Lee each drove in two runs.

At Federal Way 9, Auburn Mountainiew 2: Taylor Flores and Adrianna Lomeli-Smith each had a pair of hits, but the Eagles (2-1, 6-1) overpowered the Lions (1-2, 1-5) in an NPSL Olympic game Thursday.
