The Green River Pump Station Emergency Power Project will tap the engine generator at city well 5B to provide backup power.
It will also build a generator facility, install a fuel tank to supply fuel to the engine generator, modify the existing electrical system to accommodate the new generator, and install stormwater management facilities for new and existing storm runoff.
On Monday night, the Auburn City Council awarded the nearly $1 million contract to McClure and Sons, Inc., on its low bid of $832,159 plus state sales tax of $83,216, for a total contract price of $915, 375.
Construction should start next month and wrap up by November 2019.
The city received four responsive bids, and the low bid was roughly 6.14 percent below the engineer’s estimate.
Staff performed reference checks and other verifications to determine that McClure and Sons, Inc. met the responsible bidding criteria.
