Kiana Adams threw a five-hitter, doubled and drove in a run as Auburn erupted for five late-inning runs to take a 7-2 North Puget Sound League Olympic Division softball road win Tuesday night.
The victory keeps the Trojans (7-1 league, 11-1 overall) within reach of division-leading Federal Way (9-1, 13-1).
The Hornets, meanwhile, dropped to 3-6 and 5-7.
Adams, Auburn’s ace, struck out seven and walking none in going the full seven innings.
Charity Sevaaetasi went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Lynneti Aumua had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.
Gracie Jo Olson and Callie Arnott each drove in a run. Abbigail Newman drew a run-scoring walk. Emma Oehler had two hits and scored twice.
Auburn hosts Auburn Mountainview (4-6, 4-9) at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Federal Way 12, at Auburn Mountainview 2: Katelyn Terzakos drove in two runs and Becca Rennick allowed seven hits and two runs over 4⅔ innings, striking out nine, as the Eagles defeated the Lions in NPSL Olympic play Tuesday.
Emma Podliska went 2-for-3 with a triple and RBI to lead the Lions.
At Todd Beamer 7, Auburn Riverside 2: Haley Tyree connected for a pair of doubles and drove in two runs as Titans (4-6, 6-8) scored four runs in the sixth inning to down the Ravens (6-3, 10-4) in an NPSL Olympic game Tuesday.
