Auburn Riverside’s Jasmin Muneton raced to victory at the North Puget Sound League girls cross country meet at Fort Steilacoom Park on Saturday.
Muneton, a junior and All-City champion, covered the 5,000-meter distance in a personal-best 18 minutes, 26.6 seconds. Tahoma sophomore Faith Martinez was second (18:56.20).
The Ravens finished third in the team chase. Tahoma, with six runners ending up in the top 10, took the team title. Auburn Mountainview was sixth.
Auburn Riverside’s Samena Tate was 11th (19:48.2). Her teammate, Sophia Randall, finished 22nd (20:38.9).
Zoee Mangahas was Auburn Mountainview’s top finisher, 20th (20:28.8). Josie Martin took 30th (21:08.3).
Freshman Bailey Barker led Auburn, finishing 28th (21:03.2).
Boys highlights
Jeremiah Bartlett finished 10th and Theodore Wright was 12th, leading Auburn Mountainview to a second-place finish.
Tahoma, led by race winner Ethan Martin (15:25.9) swept the top four spots to claim the team title.
Auburn Mountainview edged Enumclaw for second.
Bartlett, a senior, completed the course in 16:18.90. Wright stopped the clock in 16:26.10.
Auburn’s Tim Rambo was 13th (16:28.0). Teammate Payton Barker wound up 29th (17:09.2).
The Lions’ Dhevn Peterson was 25th (16:55.10) and Ryan Lewis finished 27th (16:59.9).
Easton Lane was Auburn Riverside’s top finisher – 26th (16:57.0) – followed by Gunnar Tang (28th, 17:06.7) and Henry Jones (30th, 17:10.6).
The Westside Classic-West Central District meet is Saturday at Chambers Creek Properties in Central Meadow. The first race starts at 10 a.m.
