The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 241 calls for service between Oct. 21 and Oct. 26, among them the following:

Oct. 21

Service call: 2:27 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters hurrying to a car accident found a small sedan on its side sticking out of the back of a house, its driver unhurt and the homeowners away. Personnel called in the Auburn building department to help with a structural inspection.

Oct. 22

Aid call: 9:38 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters treated a woman who was complaining of abdominal pain, and a private ambulance motored her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Oct. 23

Aid call: 8:53 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters quickly controlled a middle-aged man’s bleeding problem and transported him to MAMC.

Oct. 24

Shooting: 10:31 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a middle-aged woman who’d sustained a gunshot wound to the head, and a helicopter transported her to Harborview Medical Center.

Oct. 25

Aid call: 12:49 p.m., (North Auburn). Firefighters evaluated and treated a man who had injured one of his ankles in a tumble downstairs, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.

Oct. 26

Structure fire: 11:30 p.m., (Enumclaw). Units dispatched as mutual aid to a structure fire in the city of Enumclaw arrived to find a fully-involved shop. Units from multiple agencies, among them Enumclaw, VRFA, Buckley and Mountain View, battled the fire until it was out. A King County fire investigator is on the case.
