When Nic Greer pulls up in a Waste Management truck and picks up Auburn residents’ recycling, he leaves something very special behind – holiday cheer.

For the 13th year, Greer is dressed as Santa and is passing out candy canes and Christmas spirit all along his route.

He inherited his love for the holidays from his mother, who made Greer’s suit by hand. And when he puts it on, magical things happen in the neighborhoods he serves. Children and adults alike come out to greet Greer.

“I love seeing the looks on the faces of the children,” he said. “It’s amazing how happy you can make people just by putting on this suit.”

Keep any eye for Greer for the next week as he rolls through Auburn on his shiny green sleigh.
