Javon Forward, Auburn Riverside High School’s two-way big-play athlete, has decided to walk on at the University of Washington, the senior posted on Twitter Sunday.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Forward, a standout safety and running back, had offers from Dartmouth, Columbia, Yale, Harvard, Cornell, Georgetown, Montana State, Air Force and Nevada.
“… I’m excited to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at … The University of Washington. GO DAWGs!!” Forward tweeted.
Forward ran for 1,267 yards and 18 touchdowns and made 11 catches for 133 yards and a TD, leading Auburn Riverside to an 8-2 record and a district playoff berth last season. On defense, he had five interceptions and made 47 tackles.
In 35 career games, Forward ran for 2,515 yards and 36 touchdowns.
Forward earned first-team All-North Puget Sound League Valley Division honors on both sides of the ball.
