JEAN MARIE KUEHN (NEE JUETTEN)

Jean Marie Kuehn passed away peacefully on February 12, 2020.

She was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, on September 24, 1926. Jean was the eldest of four children born to Edward and Helen Juetten. When she was in her teens, her family moved to San Antonio, where she attended high school. After high school, her family moved to the Seattle area, where she attended the University of Washington. It was there she met her husband.

Jean and her loving husband and best friend Riley spent 67 years together. They settled in Auburn, Washington where they raised their two children and made many life-long friends. They were avid skiers, long-time members and social directors of the local Ferrari club, and world travelers. They enjoyed every moment they spent together.

After retiring from The Boeing Company, Jean volunteered for twenty years as a docent at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA where she guided tours for groups ranging from school children to visiting dignitaries. Later, she volunteered at the White River Valley Museum in Auburn, WA.

Always outgoing, Jean made many friends throughout her life. At the Wesley Lea Hill Retirement community in Auburn, where she and Riley moved in 2012, she enjoyed seeing many of her longtime friends from the community, as well as the many new friends she made there.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Riley Kuehn, her son Ryan Kuehn and sister Virginia Guilfoyle. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Scarff (Way), her grandchildren Nathan “Nate” Cohn and Helene Cohn, her daughter-in-law Sheila Kuehn, and brothers Pat and Mike Juetten.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
