Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to a report of flames coming from a dryer at a residence in the Emerald Court Townhomes at 1814 I St. NE in Auburn at 11:36 a.m. today.

Upon arrival firefighters found that a sprinkler system had activated and contained the fire to a first-floor laundry room. There was very little fire damage and some water damage in the laundry room.

The resident will be able to return to the unit.

There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
