A sampling of 212 calls April 13-19

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 212 calls for service April 13-19, among them the following:

April 13

Aid Call: (Pacific) 1:28 p.m. Firefighters assisted a man complaining of fever and weakness. Firefighters assessed the patient and transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further treatment.

April 14

Garage Fire: (Pacific) 11:47 a.m. Firefighters were dispatched to a garage fire on Pacific Ave. S. First arriving units found smoke coming from the garage. The fire was quickly knocked down and did not extend to the main house. No firefighters or residents were injured. The cause is under investigation.

April 15

Minor Fire: (Lakeland Hills) 12:25 p.m. Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in propane barbecue on the second floor of an apartment building. Crews arrived to find the fire extinguished by the occupant and no damage to the structure. The occupant received burns on the hands but refused evaluation at the hospital.

April 16

Labor and Delivery: (Lakeland Hills) 12:36 p.m. Firefighters responded to a woman in active labor. Firefighters assisted in the delivery of a healthy baby girl. Firefighters provided medical care to both patients. Medics evaluated the patients and the two were transported to Valley Medical Center by private ambulance.

Structure Fire: 6:02 p.m. Firefighters responded to a garage fire that extended to surrounding exposures. Crews from the Valley Regional Fire Authority, South King Fire and Rescue, and Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority assisted in putting out the fire. Crews extinguished the fire after extensive overhaul and occupying residents suffered no injuries.

April 17

Aid Call: (South Auburn) 1 p.m. Firefighters responded to a man who passed out while exiting his car. He was evaluated and transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance.

April 18

Aid Call: (Lea Hill) 9:06 a.m. Firefighters responded to an elderly woman who was short of breath with swelling in her extremities. The patient was treated on scene and transported to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center by private ambulance.

April 19

Aid Call: (Auburn) 11:39 a.m. Firefighters assisted a woman complaining of a head injury after a fall. Firefighters assessed the patient, treated her on scene, and then transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further treatment.
