One woman was killed and another wounded in a shooting Sept. 23 in the 2200 block of Auburn Way North.

The incident began at 2:47 a.m. between four to six people in three or four vehicles headed from D Street NE toward Auburn Way North, according to Auburn Police Cmdr. Mike Hirman.

Medics pronounced one woman dead at the scene as medics rushed the other woman to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Hirman said the woman was expected to survive.

“All I can say is several rounds were fired, (at the) upper torso and head,” Hirman said.

Hirman said the two women knew each other.

As to the origin of the incident, Hirman would only say, “we are not releasing details.”

Police have not yet made any arrests.
