The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 194 calls for service between Aug. 26 and Sept. 1, among them the following:

Aug. 26

Deck fire: 2 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters from VRFA and Kent RFA responding to a deck fire at a house whose occupants had left for vacation found the bark and support structure burned through. Firefighters put out the fire, reinforced the deck and turned the occupancy over to the development superintendent.

Aug. 27

Power lines down: 10:53 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to downed power lines found a high-tension power line lying in a residential street. Puget Sound Energy was already on location working on the problem. There was no threat to people or property.

Aug. 28

Aid call: 6:22 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a man suffering respiratory distress from a bee sting and medics transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.

Aug. 29

Aid call: 11:15 a.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responding to a sick man at the edge of the Stuck River reached him via a narrow, three-quarter mile-long trail from the top of the hill and treated him. Nine fire personnel, two King County Medics, and two police officers carried the man up the trail, where medics were waiting to drive him to a local hospital.

Aug. 30

Aid call: 10:30 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters treated an Auburn senior in respiratory distress and a private ambulance transported her to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Aug. 31

Aid call: 11:13 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics treated an Auburn senior in repiratory distress and King County Medics transported him to MAMC.

Sept. 1

Aid call: 11:30 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters evaluated an elderly man suffering from dizziness and nausea, and family members transported him to an area hospital.
