This year the Ravens will look to make some noise in the South Puget Sound League North 4A with a handful of returning seniors, including Kell Garrison, Cole Luckett, Cameron Grad and Gurkirat Sidhu. Also aiding the team in its quest for a successful season will be junior Prince Ligon.

“This team is extremely competitive and gritty,” said second-year coach Shawn Kilgallon. “They like the competition. They thrive on that. Those four – Gurkirat, Garrison, Grad and Cole – have been together four years. They know each other and get along great. There is a lot of cohesiveness there. It makes it fun to be around.”

The Ravens will need to replace last year’s leading scorers – Ryan Rogers, Roman Tymchuk and Dutin Hegge.

“We’re trying to bring the younger guys up as quickly as we can, so we can give the first five or six kids a decent rest,” Kilgallon said. “If we have a challenge right now, it’s depth.”

The Ravens opened their season with a 58-51 nonleague loss to Rogers on Wednesday. Luckett led the Ravens with 19 points, with Sidhu chipping in with eight.

Auburn Riverside returns to action at home with a nonleague game against Decatur at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Ravens tip off league play against Kentridge at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
