Between Oct. 24 and Oct. 30, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 292 calls for service, among which were the following

Oct. 24

Injuries from assault: 11:27 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and paramedics evaluated and treated a man who had been stabbed in the arm multiple times. A private ambulance transported him to Valley Medical Center.

Oct. 25

Collision: 12:21 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a four-vehicle collision on westbound 277th Street discovered that most of the vehicles had sustained moderate damage to the rear bumper, including one vehicle that had also activated its air bags. Nobody was hurt or wished to seek further medical assistance.

Oct. 26

Aid call: 11:08 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters assessed a man who was complaining of chest pain, then transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further treatment.

Oct. 28

Mutual aid commercial fire: 3 a.m. (Sumner). VRFA units and East Pierce Fire responded to a three-alarm commercial fire in downtown Sumner. VRFA units were assigned to help with defensive fire operations and to monitor exposures so the fire would not spread to adjoining buildings.

Commercial fire: 3:03 p.m. (Federal Way). Firefighters provided mutual aid to Federal Way for a fire in a multi-family residence. Crews arrived to help with suppression efforts, including overhauling to ensure the fire was controlled. No one was hurt. The American Red Cross was called to help displaced families.

Oct. 29

Aid call: 9:18 a.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters treated a 4-year-old child with breathing difficulty because of an asthma attack. Paramedics evaluated the young one before a private ambulance arrived to zip the kid to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.

Oct. 30

Illegal burn: 12:31 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters were called to a report of someone burning various items in a yard, and found a homeowner burning a pallet and old wood flooring. The homeowner extinguished the fire while the crew was on the scene.
