Between Nov. 13 and Nov. 19, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 324 calls for service, among them the following:

Nov. 13

Aid call: 2:34 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to reports of a woman in the throes of an anaphylactic reaction at an allergy clinic. On scene, VRFA personnel evaluated and found her to be in stable condition. Engine 332 subsequently transported her to a local hospital, including snapping a quick photo of her in the backseat of the engine at her request. The patient was quite surprised and pleased to take a ride in a fire engine. Additionally, the engine crew drove the patient’s personal vehicle to the hospital, with the patient’s permission, to ease her way home after the emergency room.

Nov. 14

Aid call: 10:07 a.m. (Auburn). VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics responded to reports of an unconscious man on the ground near a roadway. Firefighters found the man unconscious and with a pulse. Firefighters and paramedics treated the fellow for a suspected opioid overdose before they drove him to a local hospital for additional treatment.

Nov. 15

Collision: 3:45 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a 2-car motor vehicle collision treated two of the occupants for minor injuries, then transported them to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further evaluation.

Car fire: (Pacific). Firefighters were called to the report of a car fire on Highway 167 and arrived to find the car fully involved in flames. Firefighters extinguished the conflagration, but the vehicle was a total loss.

Nov. 17

Shooting: 12:33 a.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters, Auburn police and King County Medic One Paramedics responded to a man who had been shot in the shoulder. Firefighters and paramedics treated the man before King County Medic One transported him to Harborview Medical Center’s emergency room.

CPR: 9:26 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a senior citizen who was suffering from a witnessed cardiac arrest outside on the sidewalk. Auburn Police had begun CPR and delivered one shock with their AED. When firefighters and King County Medic One Paramedics arrived, they continued CPR, and then paramedics transported the man to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for continued care.

Nov. 18

Aid call: 10:32 a.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responded to the MultiCare Medical Clinic in Lakeland Hills for a woman who was complaining of heart palpitations. Personnel treated the woman, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn for further care.

Nov. 19

Motorcycle crash: 5:18 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a reported motorcycle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, VRFA firefighters and King County paramedics evaluated one man who had received moderate injuries. Firefighters transported the man to a local emergency room for further treatment.

Automatic fire alarm: 11:22 a.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responded to a report of a fire alarm going off in a residence. Engine 333 arrived to find a small two-story house with an alarm sounding, but nothing visible. The crew gained access into the home, which was not occupied at the time, where they determined that there was no fire problem at the location. Engine 333 contacted the homeowner through a video doorbell system to explain the circumstances.
