Robbery with firearms

Auburn police responded on Jan. 10 at approximately 12:12 a.m. after receiving a report of a robbery involving firearms. According to the department’s public information log, police took a report of a robbery that occurred in the 4000 block of A Street Southeast. The department’s log listed two victims in the incident and three unidentified suspects, including two men and one woman. According to the department’s log, $20 in cash was stolen in the incident.

Another armed robbery

Auburn police responded on Jan. 9 after receiving a report at approximately 11:01 p.m. of a robbery involving firearms. According to the department’s public information log, police investigated a report of a robbery that occurred in the 4000 block of A Street Southeast. The department’s log listed a supermarket as the victim in the incident. The incident involved 5 unidentified suspects, all men. According to the department’s log, $100 in miscellaneous food and alcohol was stolen in the incident. The suspects left the scene in a silver Volkswagen with an unknown license plate.

Stolen Kia

Auburn police recovered a stolen vehicle on Jan. 9 at approximately 7:31 p.m. According to the department’s public information log, a stolen Kia Soul occupied by juvenile subjects was crashed and recovered in Auburn. The department’s public information log listed one victim in the incident. In February 2023, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration attributed a sharp increase of motor vehicle thefts targeting Kia and Hyundai models vulnerable to theft as a result of a viral social media challenge that showed viewers methods to easily hot-wire the vehicles.
