From the Auburn Police Department

Just before 9:15 a.m. on July 14, Auburn Police Officer Korey Williams conducted proactive patrol near the 200 block of 37th Street SE. During the patrol, the officer located a stolen vehicle and, with the assistance of three other officers, arrested two occupants for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Officers on the scene observed what appeared to be a firearm inside the recovered vehicle. Both suspects declined consent to search, so the vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant.

An Auburn police detective soon obtained a search warrant for the vehicle, which led to finding a substantial amount of evidence inside. The following is a list of recovered evidence:

• Seven firearms

• 164.9 grams of marijuana

• 400 fentanyl pills

• 6.3 grams of cocaine

• 172.6 grams of psychoactive mushrooms

• 150.1 grams of methamphetamine

• 66.1 grams of fentanyl powder

• 16.1 grams of heroin

The primary suspect has a significant criminal history and was on federal probation for prior drug and weapon convictions. Due to the work by the involved officers and detectives, the suspect is facing additional federal charges.
