The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 291 calls for service between July 15 and July 21, among them the following:
July 15
Aid call: 8 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a senior citizen who had fallen out of her wheelchair, injuring her feet. Firefighters treated the woman on scene, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
July 16
Aid call: 7:06 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and Auburn police treated a woman who’d suffered an injury from a dog bite during a domestic dispute. Family transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for continued care.
July 17
Brush fire: 3:15 p.m. (Lea Hill). Firefighters and Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority firefighters responded to a brush fire approximately 50’ x 50’ in size. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and discovered gasoline and possible incendiary devices in the area. A VRFA fire investigator and Auburn police were called to investigate the incident. There was no damage to the property.
July 18
Vehicle fire: 10:42 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters were dispatched to a passenger vehicle fire in a parking lot. Upon arrival, they found flames shooting up from the engine compartment all the way to the windshield. Firefighters ensured all occupants were safely out of the vehicle and extinguished the fire.
July 19
Aid call: 6:35 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a woman who was reporting a rapid heart rate and shortness of breath. The woman also mentioned she was pregnant. Firefighters evaluated her on scene, and then a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital for further care.
July 20
Vehicle fire: 1:38 p.m. (Auburn). Multiple callers reported a passenger vehicle fire in a Walgreen’s parking lot, and when firefighters arrived, they found an SUV with a fire originating from the engine compartment. Passengers who were inside the vehicle when the fire started reported hearing popping noises from the engine. Engine 332 crew used a bumper line to extinguish the flames.
July 21
Accident: 6:51 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to an accident involving an adolescent on an electric dirt bike who had collided with an SUV while riding on the sidewalk. The teen was treated for multiple injuries on the scene and placed on a spinal immobilization device. Firefighters transported the individual to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further care.
