April 25, 1925 – July 25, 2024
Our dear beloved mother Georgann Zoe Henry, at the age of 99, went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 25, 2024. She was born on April 25, 1925 in Portland, Oregon to George and Zoe Cuddy. The family later moved to a farmhouse in Puyallup, WA where she graduated from Puyallup High School in 1943.
She married the love of her life, Ivan Henry, in 1955. They met at a dance hall, married and moved to Auburn, WA. They had four children; James, Gretchen, Deborah and Rebecca.
In 1955 Ivan and Georgann attended a Billy Graham Crusade in Seattle and both accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts. They had a new passion for the Lord and together with other Auburn families, helped start Bible Baptist Church, now known as Grace Community.
In 1959, while on a family vacation, they were in a terrible auto accident in Sacramento, CA, and Ivan was killed. Georgann raised four young children on her own. In 1963, Georgann went to work for the Auburn School District as a school secretary and she retired from ASD in 1988. She then started her second career at Round the Clock Property Management as a secretary and had a second retirement in 2000. She loved her work families.
Mom loved to cook delicious pies, travel to Maui and spend time with her family. She loved NYC and meeting her grandson Shane on a trip there in 2000. Georgann always had a craft project going and was an especially talented tole painter. She loved her sweet dog Lily.
Georgann spent the last nine years living at Stafford Suites in Sumner where she enjoyed doing cross word puzzles, watching sports and having visits from her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ivan, son James and daughter Deborah. She is survived by her sister Donna Clark, daughters Gretchen Erickson (Frank) and Becky Kelleher (Philip). Georgann was blessed with seven grandchildren, Kristen Clark, Jason Erickson, Shane Davison, Lindsey Ryan, Ivan Kelleher, Jenna Correa, Hannah Kelleher and five great grandchildren. Moms faith in God was a testimony to us all.
My flesh and my heart may fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26.
Georgann’s memorial will be held on Sunday, September 22 at 2:00 pm at Gospel Life Church (902 Shaw Rd E., Puyallup). In lieu of flowers please donate to Greater Puyallup Young Life at https://greaterpuyyl.younglife.org/camp .
