The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to multiple calls for service between Dec. 2 and Dec. 8, among them the following:

Dec. 2

Aid call: 3:38 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a woman in the throes of a seizure after family noted her symptoms were unusual for her medical history. A private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.

Dec. 3

Aid call: 5:37 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters provided calming measures to a man in his 50s who was suffering from dementia and delusional thoughts. A private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for treatment.

Dec. 4

Garbage can fire: 5:49 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a garbage can fire in front of a Rite Aid store found a fully-involved trash receptacle positioned against the building under an overhang. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire with a water extinguisher, ensuring no fire extension into the building, and Auburn police searched the area for the fire’s cause and origin.

Dec. 5

Aid call: 11:55 p.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated and treated a woman who was complaining of a possible broken arm, and a private ambulance transported her to Valley Medical Center for further care.

Dec. 6

Aid call: 12:45 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters assessed a man who was complaining of knee pain after being struck by a car while he was skateboarding across a busy road, and a VRFA aid car transported him to a local hospital.

Dec. 7

Aid medic: 3:17 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to woman who was struggling to catch her breath found her with severely low blood pressure and asked King County Medic One to assist. Firefighters stabilized the woman until paramedics arrived to provide further care before transporting her to a local hospital with firefighter assistance.

Dec. 8

Aid call: 4:39 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a man in his 60s who fell from a second-story roof onto a first-story roof. The patient suffered minor injuries, which firefighters treated before he was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further evaluation.
