Washington state boys and girls 4A and 3A tennis tourneys begin Friday

The Washington State Boys and Girls 4A and 3A tennis tournaments begin today in the Tri-Cities, with six athletes from Auburn schools vying for state placings.

 

The Washington State Boys and Girls 4A and 3A tennis tournaments begin Friday in the Tri-Cities, with six athletes from Auburn schools vying for state placings.

In the girls 3A tourney, Auburn Mountainview senior Maggie Henderson makes her fourth state appearance. Henderson, the Lions’ No. 1 singles player, takes on Lakeside’s Shea Wojciehowski at 8:30 a.m., Friday at the Tri-City Court Club.

The Auburn Mountainview doubles team of Nichola Usher and Alicia Jow make its first appearance at state and begin play at 10 a.m, Friday. at Kamiakin High School.

In the 4A girls tourney, Auburn sophomore and No. 2 singles player Lauren Thornquist returns for her second state appearance. Thornquist begins play at 8:30 a.m Friday at Hanford High School against Megan LaLone of Stanwood.

In the 4A boys tourney, the Auburn Riverside doubles team of Jarad Schraeder and Dylan Vickers begins play at 8:30 a.m., Friday at Richland High School.
