May 9

Truck fire: 8:15 a.m., (Auburn). Having responded to a fire in a Waste Management truck, firefighters found a large pile of garbage aflame in an empty lot. As the driver explained to firefighters, while he’d been finishing his route, he noticed smoke in the back of his truck, so he drove to an area away from homes and vehicles to dump the blazing refuse. Firefighters handily extinguished the fire, and the truck sustained no damage.

Brush fire: 2:29 p.m., (Lea Hill). Having arrived at a large brush fire along westbound Highway 18, firefighters found a 250-foot-by-25-foot-wide brush fire that was threatening trees. Firefighters used hand tools and water to kill the fire.

May 11

Aid call: 3:40 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics responded to a woman who was unresponsive and stabilized her before a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) for additional treatment.

May 12

Patient Assist: 4 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). An Auburn senior citizen had slipped from his wheelchair, so firefighters lifted him into his recliner and checked him for injuries. Finding none, firefighters left the man at home with his wife.

May 13

Aid call: 7:45 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters evaluated an elderly fellow who wasn’t feeling so swift and transported him to MAMC.

May 14

Aid call: 7 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated an Auburn senior who had fainted, and medics transported him to St. Francis Hospital for additional evaluation and treatment.

May 15

Aid call: 4:45 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters evaluated a male who was complaining of severe abdominal pain, and a private ambulance scooted him off to MAMC.
