When Lakeland Hills development began, it was the dream of a property owner south of Auburn city limits to build a whole new city. The man had a dream. The land had to be annexed to Auburn to make that dream come true. And then the owner died.
Since Pete Lewis got elected to the City Council in 1996, the dream of one man has become that city. Pete Lewis lives in Lakeland Hills. He belongs to the homeowners association, and therefore can use his influence anytime he chooses to get his neighbors votes.
Do these voters come to Auburn to shop? Probabaly not, but I bet they complain like crazy when they have to deal with nightmarish traffic – which we deal with on a daily basis – and the eyesore the vacancy of downtown Auburn has become.
Is anyone inviting Virginia Haugen to homeowners association meetings? She is on the Municiple Services Committee. She must have been somewhat involved in the new parking regulation to keep people from parking in front of your mailboxes.
Is it any wonder that the Pierce County portion of Auburn voted for Haugen’s opponent?
We hope you will join us in voting for Haugen, so the entire City of Auburn will be represented fairly.
