The Auburn Riverside boys basketball team put together a 22-point fourth quarter to blow by district rival Auburn 60-48 in South Puget Sound League 3A action Tuesday at Auburn High School.
After trailing 28-24 at the half, Auburn (4-3 league, 7-6 overall) pulled to within three points at the start of the fourth quarter, 38-35.
The Ravens (4-3, 7-6) proved too much for the Trojans, however, scoring 22 and holding Auburn to 13.
Senior guard Mitch Wetmore led the way for Auburn Riverside with a game-high 25 points, with Quintin Bethea adding 10 and Julian Gulchuk chipping in with eight. EJ Taylor chimed in with six points and Adrian Correa and O’Darious Shaw had four each.
The Trojans were led by Malik Williams’ 19 points with Tyler Pray contributing 15. Jason Brown had nine points.
The third-place Ravens travel to fourth-place Sumner (4-3, 7-5) at 7 p.m. Friday.
Fifth-place Auburn travels to Auburn Mountainview to play the second-place Lions (6-1, 10-2).
ALSO: Junior post Tristan Miguel led the way with a game-high 25 points for Auburn Mountainview on Tuesday, lifting the Lions to a 63-47 league win against Enumclaw (2-5,4-8). Junior Ryan Lacey added 16 and Robbie Wilson had 10. Auburn Mountainview hosts Auburn at 7 p.m. Friday.
